ok I just read a wonderful post about how planning and planning and planning and planning can take the whole summer. ok this is how she put it:" This summer I am doing something drastically different. I am determined to enjoy my summer. Financial guru Dave Ramsey says the secret to saving money is learning to be content with what you have. Contentment by definition simply means: satisfied. Dave says, if you don’t have a reason to be at the mall—don’t go—you will only find something you don’t really need. Perhaps an interpretation for the home school mother might go something like this: Take a week or so—pray, plan out your curriculum, buy it, and then (gasp!) QUIT LOOKING. Be satisfied with your choices, and don’t look back. Instead, grab your cool shades, a glass of lemonade and go dip your toes in that kiddie pool. Go ahead, believe me it’s a decision you’ll never regret!" http://heartofthematteronline.com/contented-summer/
ok so I need to step back and get an overview of where I am at planning:
Tamara has planned our calendar dates.
Tamara has the Math curriculum for Ben and DJ and Damia
History will move month to month from decade to decade-unit studies
I need to include Pinterest in my planning and also allow the kids to use ideas I have pinned on boards for them. Maybe I could encourage the younger ones to look on pinterest for ideas for the afternoon for them and call it Pinterest Time
Math-individual texts
Lang arts-combined with history plus individual spelling and grammar
binders for each child with curriculum in it
journal

letters to Jesse, etc
reading-library books

unit studies
History-20th century studies overview and ............assignment sheet
